Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that allows families to raise money for their non-profit organization. Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards.
You purchase gift cards from your organization at face value, and your coordinator orders those cards at a reduced price. The difference is an instant rebate for your organization. It’s really that simple. Just by using Scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases, you can easily raise money for tuition or book fees. Anyone can order; mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles, even your neighbor!
Here’s how it works!!!
Lester has 3 kids at Zion. He signs into his Scrip account online and orders $200.00 worth of Walmart (2.5%) $100.00 Target (2.5%), $100.00 Menards (3%) $50.00 J’s Place (10%), and $50.00 Subway (10%). Lester sends payment total of $500.00 to Mrs. Anson, Scrip coordinator. Mrs. Anson submits order on Monday and gift cards arrive a few days later to be delivered to Lester.
Lester receives a rebate total of $20.50! The rebate is then split between Zion Lutheran School and Lester's school tuition. So by Lester doing regular shopping he just earned the school $10.25 and was able to take $10.25 off his tuition bill. If he does this every month for an entire year, the rebate will be $246.00! Not too bad for just spending what he would normally spend.
